Pano2VR 2.1.0 Launched

etegration | September 30, 2008 | 6:24 pm

New version of Pano2VR is available at http://gardengnomesoftware.com/pano2vr_download.php

It solved the odd problem of converting a equirectangular image into 6 sides cubes in JPEG format. It often gives a unable to write to directory errors. Small problem for me but now, I do not see it anymore. great!

PSP Videos

It’s completed. Simple and easy to follow video tutorial for point and shoot panos using PTGui, Pano2QTVR, photoshop etc. See the tutorial here.

As always, please post comments on that page’s bottom comments. I’ve switched from using Youtube to Vimeo which offers a lot clearer playback but the videos can be choppy at times. Let it load if it does then play back when loading is completed.

Sir Stamford Raffles

Sir Stamford Raffles – Singapore’s founder – stands tall and proud in the form of a dark bronze status in front of Victoria Theatre. Its replica, made of pure white polymarble, stands at North Boat Quay, an area commonly known as the Raffles Landing Site. This is the spot where Raffles was believed to have first stepped ashore.

It’s here!

etegration | September 18, 2008 | 3:31 am

The next WWP event – Colors.

http://geoimages.berkeley.edu/worldwidepanorama/wwp/practical/NextEvent.html

In the days surrounding the September 2008 equinox, photographers around the world will participate in another World Wide Panorama. The exact date of the equinox is 22 September 2008, 15:44 UTC.

The previous events have created a showcase of VR photography, with over 4500 panoramas by 920 photographers from more than 70 countries. The World Wide Panorama represents everyone in the VR community, from first-timers to professional photographers.

Please join us for the next World Wide Panorama event! (More about the theme)

The World Wide Panorama is sponsored by the Geography Computing Facility at the University of California Berkeley. This site is hosted by The Geo-Images Project. This is a non-commercial project, done simply to create enthusiasm for VR photography, and provide an outlet for our collective creativity.

All images will be copyright by the individual photographers. Use in any way other than viewing on this web site is prohibited unless permission is obtained from the relevant photographer. If you’re interested in using a panorama, be it for non-profit or commercial purposes, please contact the individual photographer. The WWP can neither negotiate for, nor speak on behalf of its participants. The overall site is copyright by the Regents of the University of California.

My last participation was Sept 2007. See http://geoimages.berkeley.edu/worldwidepanorama/wwp907/html/WeeGweeWan.html

ITCoW - In The Course of Work is a website I maintained at http://www.itcow.com and contains some technical and IT stuffs and writeups. Check it out. ITCoW 360, this site, is a sub site used to maintain all panoramas shots. Click on the images on each posts to launch the 360 panos.

Most of the 360 Pano are in DevalVR, although you can view them with just Quicktime installed, they will not be in fullscreen mode. Install the DevalVR plugin, it's just but a few seconds to download and install. Alternatively, there's at times, Flash version of the panos I release. FPP version of panos are Flash too, so if you have Flash installed already, you're all set.

Click on the respective icon to download the plugins.
