What causes failures?

Software development? Programmers? Server guys? darn it all to hell. Whose
fault is it when the darn software don’t work? Who blame who? Customers blame
software guys who in turn blame the people who provided the server, installed
the OS/ SQL/ SMS/ whatever, use your brain please. Software not working has
nothing to do with why the server didn’t reboot weekly, in the first place if
the coding was done right, there isn’t a need to do reboots goons! or better
yet, the customers blame the server upfront! Don’t you just love it! oh yes,
don’t you just love that fuzzy feeling of "butter on your arse for nothing".

Solutions:

1. Sack someone, who’ll get all the blame for it, who to, leave that to your
imagination.
2. Scrap the darn thing
3. Improve on what you already have?!

The bad:

1. You lost a lot of money but better now then later where you loose more.
Pain pain once and live longer!
2. You get one guy sacked, but hey, it may be his wake up call anyway, to the
organisation and to that guy!

The good:

1. It bloody obvious, you get a whole industry of happy users, nothing beats
that!
2. You can start wearing that shiny jacket printed with those magical words
3. You can at last start to show off how good the bloody system is.

Dunno what the hell I talking about? Go figure

    but my is a very painful one today….

    I can an understand how u feel when things dun go you way @ work. just to share with you what happened to me today when my supposedly team lead played me out when i blindly cover his shit when things go wrong @ work.

    he, my lead was tasked to install a remote admin s/w on e site which he overlooked n turn out to be one of the production sites. guess what? he dun even know wtf was going on when customer question him why it was not install when CR was raised prior?

    anyway to cut e story short, i own up e farking problem and he got away with it…. u might be thinking why i cover up his shit? i have no idea too, but i tink is for the welfare of the whole team…..

    i’m still farking pissed at him…;-( but what to do. life still got to go on rite?

    anyway, to make up for my unhappiness today, I scored big when customer escalated a win2k server problem to me and I managed to solved the problem when high price team cannot even figure out where the problem lies…….. ;-( and customer call me up and ask me this question: “why do we have to pay $50,000 a yr to high price team when u can spot the problem and resolve it on the spot�? knn, how am I suppose to answer Mr Ok Ok!

    at times, i always ask myself how long am i gonna take all this shit. there was a time when i was very sad when one of my most trusted n respected peer was fired, for somwthing which he was being setup in my opinion for something he did not screwup…. sob! until now, we still really miss his present in our heart.

    damnit, im still awake at 3am in the morning, i dun think im going to office in the morning, however, if my peers get to know about the shit i went through on tuesday, hopefully they will forgive me.
